URGENT PATIENT NOTICE

Due to health issues Dr Wielink is currently away from the practice, unfortunately we are not in a position to confirm when Dr Wielink will return.

Whilst Dr Wielink is away from the practice we are attempting to secure locum cover at short notice. However patients should be aware there are significant GP shortages in Devon.

This will have an effect on the service we provide; priority will be given to those with the greatest need including serious and potentially life threatening illnesses, the young, frail elderly and palliative care patients.

We would value your cooperation and understanding during this time. You may notice pre-bookable routine appointments will be difficult to arrange during this period.

GP Earnings

Year Ended 30/06/2017

NHS Year 2017/18

All GP practices are required to declare the mean net earnings (e.g. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice. This is required in the interests of the greater public accountability recognising GP pay is ultimately funded from tax paid by the public.

NHS England requires that the net earnings of doctors engaged in the practice is publicised by 31st March 2018 at the latest.  However, it should be noted that the prescribed method of calculating earnings is potentially misleading because it takes no account of how much time doctors spend working in the practice and should not be used for any judgement about GP earnings, nor to make any comparisons with other practices'.

The average pay for GPs working in Wallingbrook Health Group in the last financial year was £24,646 before tax and national insurance. This is for 2 full time GP, 6 part time GPs and 0 locum GPs (who worked in the practice for more than six months.)
