REMOTE DELIVERIES OF MEDICINES

Patients are able to collect their medicines from our branch surgeries in Winkleigh and Lapford as well as the main dispensary in Chulmleigh.  However, we would ask you to allow an extra 24hrs when ordering your repeat to give us time to send your medicines to the allocated branch surgery.

Some patients have informal arrangements with the local post offices to have their medicines delivered or collected from these premises.  Responsibility for informal arrangements lie with the 2 parties concerned and the surgery will only act as instructed by the patient, again we ask for you to allow enough time as delivery to some Post Offices only happen on certain days of the week.

Remote delivery of medicines is governed by the Medicines Act 1968 and is only recommended for patients who are housebound or have difficulty in travelling to the main dispensary. Apart from branch surgeries, all remote deliveries will need to be signed for on collection to ensure that we comply with the above regulation.

As a general principle, we ask that you allow at least 7 working days for all repeat prescriptions requiring remote delivery. Please note that when medicines leave any of the surgery’s premises and handed over to a third party, we have no further control over its destiny.
