Telephone Calls

Our Receptionists are available:

If you wish to speak to a Doctor or Nurse please ring 01769 580269 – the Receptionist will take your details and message and pass them to the Doctor/Nurse – who will call you back when they are free. If you feel it is a medical emergency, please explain this to the Receptionist.
Messages can be left for the District Nursing Staff, the Health Visitor, Midwife or Physiotherapist if they are unavailable when you call.

NHS DIRECT

For general health information, advice or any medical enquiry there is an NHS Direct telephone line open 24 hours on 0845 4647.

EMERGENCY CALLS

In an emergency during surgery hours, please telephone 01769 580269. The Receptionist will contact a Doctor as quickly as possible. Please be prepared to give details of the patient to the Receptionist.

In some cases, it may be advisable to phone 999 directly. The ambulance control will assess the urgency of the call on the information you give.

When the surgery is closed, please telephone 01392 824600. You will be connected to the Doctors’ message handling service where someone will take details and pass them to the Doctors’ Out-of-Hours Co-operative service. A Doctor will contact you at the telephone number you have given to further assist with your medical problem.
